states and Puerto Rico have Area Agencies on Aging (AAA). States without AAAs (Alaska, Delaware,
Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Wyoming)
are served by State Agencies on Aging (See State Agency Directory).

MEDICARE:
HCFA administers Medicare, the nation's largest health insurance program,
which covers 37 million Americans. Medicare provides health insurance to people age 65 and
over and those who have permanent kidney failure and certain people with disabilities.
ADMINISTRATION ON AGING:
Includes information designed for Older Americans and their families as well as
those concerned about providing the opportunities and services to enrich the lives of
older persons and support their independence.
INDIGENT PATIENT
SERVICES: The pharmaceutical industry has had a long-standing
tradition of providing prescription medications free of charge to physicians whose
patients might not otherwise have access to their medications.
